Early growing this year

Welcome to my little backyard greenhouse tour as of April 17, 2024! This spring marks my first season with this delightful space, and I couldn't be more thrilled. In early March, I eagerly planted my first seeds – as shown in the picture below. Unfortunately, those radishes didn't quite make it. I initially planted radishes alongside parsley, cilantro, and dill in these planters, but the radishes grew lanky and had to be removed.

In the middle picture, you can see my three pepper plants that I successfully overwintered inside the house. Yes, you heard it right – you can overwinter pepper plants! While it's not a common practice in Canada due to its delicate balance, I took the plunge and brought in seven plants. Regrettably, only three survived due to some mistakes along the way. Nevertheless, I'm glad I gave it a try because here we are in April with peppers already starting to grow!

Stay tuned for more updates on my gardening adventures and lessons learned along the way.

Here is the Greenhouse tour:

Strawberries came back this year, the grape vine is still unknown. I mulched both and gave them some water- time will tell!
